During the 16th Meeting of General Assembly, which took place on 10 June 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey, a decision was made in the field of culture to approve the project related to the creation of International Youth Festival Orchestra under the leadership of the well-known Azerbaijani conductor Mr. Yalchin Adigozalov.
The meeting with the head and technical coordinator of the International Youth Festival Orchestra, Mr. Yalchin Adigozalov, was held on 11 June 2017. On the part of International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development (IFSPD), the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Eldar Hasanov (Secretary-General and Vice President), Mrs. Elmira Uygun (Executive Director) and Mrs. Saida Safikhanova (Project Coordinator) and further actions of the orchestra’s activities were discussed in detail. During the meeting, Mr. Yalchin Adigezalov emphasized that music is art in the highest sense of the word and if we talk with each other in the language of music, express our opinion with the help of music, rejoice and even mourn with music, then people will be able to avoid many misfortunes and new waves of increasing violence and tension in the world.
The idea of creating International Youth Festival Orchestra has for its aims to gather and unite young and particularly talented musicians from the member countries of International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development (IFSPD). By reuniting young musicians from different countries into a single collective, we will have a unique opportunity to promote the rich musical heritage of a number of countries. The orchestra will also be the first platform for the talented solo performers to enter the big stage, giving them a ticket to the creative life. Undoubtedly, the creation of the International Youth Festival Orchestra will become a landmark event in the cultural life of the vast region. Each new event in the next country will pour into an event of great importance and serve with understanding, respect for each other, rapprochement of peoples, and familiarization with culture and musical history. Thus, this will serve the statutory purpose and the task of our international organization (IFSPD).
