“Bulgaria’s relations with Russia and the countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)”, December 6-7, 2012, Sofia, Bulgaria

Secretary General of the BSCSIF Branch in Istanbul, Mr. Tuğrul Veli, attended the meeting entitled “Bulgaria’s relations with Russia and the countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)”, which was held by Russia and CIS Peoples Friendship Federation in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in December 6-7. In the meeting, Mr. Tuğrul Veli delivered his speech entitled “The Geopolitics of the Balkans with the Perspective of Regional Cooperation and Russia-Turkey-Bulgaria Strategic Triangle” and held the co-chairmanship of the session entitled the regional energy cooperation.

The subjects such as situation in the region, the hampering and promoting factors concerning the cooperation, integration and feasibility and framework of the studies that enhance the cooperation with the statesman and diplomats of Bulgaria and other participant countries, the prominent experts of foreign policy, energy, security and law were emphasized.

The ideas, which are about the situation of the Muslim and Christian people in the Balkans region within the light of the experiences of the initiatives of the dialogue of civilizations as from the beginning of 90’s, have been exchanged with the religious (spiritual) leaders of Bulgaria.

Evaluations concerning Turkey’s Balkan policy and the future perspectives of Turkish-Bulgarian relations were made to the press.
