From 8 to 9 October 2017 the Secretary-General of International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development (IFSPD) Prof.Dr. Eldar Hasanov met with IFSPD President Mr. Dimitar Kostov and a member of IFSPD Board of Directors Mr. Zdravko Vassilev Popov

As all of the members of Board of Directors, as well as the leadership of our organization, had been informed, from 8 to 9 October 2017 the Secretary-General of International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development (IFSPD) Prof.Dr. Eldar Hasanov met with IFSPD President Mr. Dimitar Kostov and a member of IFSPD Board of Directors Mr. Zdravko Vassilev Popov in Bulgaria, Sofia.

During this meeting, relevant priority issues related to the activities, goals, and objectives of the IFSPD were discussed. Some of the main discussed issues were setting the date of the next IFSPD General Assembly meeting, research projects to develop cooperation, expanding the IFSPD partnership with well-known and influential non-governmental organizations and IFSPD statements on „referendum“ in Iraq and Catalan region of Spain. The registration of IFSPD (Bucharest, Romania), the process of negotiations with the UN and its units, the opening of the International University for Peace and Sustainable Development in Istanbul and the issue of the International Symphony Orchestra, as cooperation in the field of culture, were discussed as well.

After a thorough discussion of the above and in accordance with the Resolution of 16th General Assembly held on 10 June 2017 in Istanbul Turkey, and considering the Bulgaria’s 2018 Presidency of EU (1 January 2018 – 1 July 2017), it was proposed by the IFSPD President to arrange the General Assembly meeting either during the period from 5 to 15 July 2018 or during the period from 15 to 20 September 2018. Also, the cooperation of IFSPD experts with the UN and its representatives was approved, in order to jointly implement research projects, including those on the problems of the migrants of Middle East.

Ultimately, it was stressed that Mr. Roman Bradu, IFSPD’s lawyer, should speed up the process of registering IFSPD in the Romanian Ministry of Justice, and that Mr. Ismail Safi should continue his talks with the UN and its structures, as well as with the Turkish government, about the opening of the International University for Peace and Sustainable Development.
