International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black and Caspian Seas (hereinafter International Fund) firmly condemns terrorist acts that have occurred recently in the building of the satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” in Paris, as well as in the tourist district Sultanahmet of the Istanbul center, arranged by suicide bomber near the police station.
International Fund expresses its condolences to the bereaved families in France and Turkey as well as wish the injured a speedy recovery.
International Fund expresses its solidarity with the French and Turkish peoples, and reiterates its principle position that terrorism could not be justified under any pretext, it could not and should not be associated with any religion, nationality or civilization.
Persons guilty of these monstrous crimes must be prosecuted and correspondingly punished. At the same time, special attention in combating terrorism should be also given to the elimination of the terrorism causes. Meanwhile, it is necessary to provide non-judgmental attitude and equal respect of all religious confessions.
Terror acts in Paris and Istanbul confirmed the need to strengthen cooperation of the international community in order to effectively counter terrorism.
Following the principles of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as the principles of democracy and human rights, the International Fund, from its own side, expresses its readiness to continue contributing to the international efforts in combating terrorism being a security threat not only for the population of the Fund’s member-countries, but also for the entire international community.
