In period June 30 – July 2, 2011 Georgian Entrepreneurs Confederation hosted the fourth Business Forum of the Union of Black and Caspian Confederation of Enterprises (UBCCE) in Batumi, Georgia.
Out Fund was represented on the Forum by the Vice-President, Mr. Tamaz Berdze. The Business Forum was held under the moto “Business is becoming green” and “Invest in Georgia – invest in the Black and Caspian seas”. The event was attended by the governmental representatives from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Georgia, the UBCCE President, Dr. Atanase Lavidas and different companies operating in the field of energy, finance, agriculture, food industry, from 16 countries: Turkey, Germany, Greece, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Romania, Kazakhstan, Sweden, UAE etc.
Representatives of private companies and business associations of the Black and Caspian region got familiarized with the business opportunities of the country and held B2B meetings with the local companies. Within the program of the Forum, Memorandum of Understanding between Turkish business organization TURKONFED and the Georgian Entrepreneurs Confederation was signed. The MOU envisages exchange of information and intensification of business contacts between 2 countries through organizing joint events, exhibitions, forums and etc. Within the framework of UBCCE – GIZ Joint Project part of the program was dedicated to the presentation of the outlines of GREEN BUSINESS SUPPORT STRATEGY FOR GEORGIA . The participants of the Forum also explored the potential investment projects and experience of famous world companies operating on the territory of Georgia: HIPP, Heidelberg, RAKIA industrial area Poti and others.
