In March, 2-3, 2012, the conference-symposium Ecological Chemistry – 2012 took place at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova (ASM), and it was attended by more than 250 specialists from Europe, USA and CSI.
The chairman of the conference – symposium was the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova, Mr Gheorghe Duca, with the participation of other Presidents of the Academies of Sciences from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Tajikistan.
The BSCSIF Vice-president and Executive Director of the Moldovan Research and Development Association (MRDA), Mrs Lidia Romanchuc actively participated in the organization of this event. The BSCSIF was also represented by Mrs Felicia Scoarta, The Adviser to Secretary General.Among the active organizers of the Conference there were the Moldovan Research and Development Association, the Faculty of chemistry and chemical technology of the Moldova State University (MSU), the Department of industrial and ecological chemistry of MSU, Research Center for Applied and Environmental Chemistry of MSU, Institute of Chemistry of ASM, the University of ASM, the Center of international projects.
This event is a good opportunity for developing international cooperation, experience exchange and discussion of the recent achievements in the study of physico-chemical and biochemical processes occurring in natural water, atmosphere and soil, affected by contaminants of human origin, their influence on the human’s health and habitat, and discussion of the ways of preventing and reducing environmental impact, as well as a healthy lifestyle.
