The vice-president of BSCSIF, Dimitar Kostov and the Counselor of BSCSIF Secretary General, Felicia Scoarta, participated in the period of June,10-11, 2011 in the International Conference “The politics of EU Eastern enlargement”, which took place in Varna, Bulgaria. The conference, being the first cooperative project, was organized by Chernorizets Hrabar Free University of Varna in collaboration with the Diplomatic Institute of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Republic of Bulgaria and the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black sea and the Caspian sea.
Very actual and important topics were highlighted in the reports during the Conference: the politics of EU minorities, the problem of EU and NATO cooperation, energy security of Europe and Asia, the relations of EU and Persian Gulf states, the role of EU in resolving “frozen” conflicts, Nabucco Pipeline Project, the illegal emigration in the Black sea region, the cultural heritage of the Black sea region.
The scientific researchers from the most prestigious Bulgarian Universities took part in the Conference: Varna Free University (VFU), New Bulgarian University, Sophia University of Economics, Technical University of Sophia, Sophia State University and also the representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Republic of Bulgaria, Aylin Chukova.
The conference was opened by the welcoming speech of Emil Panushev, the Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Administration, VFU, Pavel Pavlov, Vice-Rector for Research at VFU, Dimitar Kostov, the Vice-president of BSCSIF, Felicia Scoarta, – the Counselor of BSCSIF Secretary General and Emilia Paneva, the expert of the Diplomatic Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Republic of Bulgaria.
All the reports presented at the Conference will be included into the publications of Varna Free University, on the occasion of the International Conference.
