Appeal of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea to the Heads of the State Duma of Russian Federation, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and European Parliament. March 9, 2014

The International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea (International Fund) expresses great concern and unease regarding the political crisis evolving in Ukraine, accompanied by instability and confrontation.

Ukraine plays an important role in Central Europe and in the Black Sea region, and brings a significant contribution to political stability and development of the entire region.

The International Fund supports a speedy settlement of the crisis, in accordance with the constitution of Ukraine and the norms and principles of international law. It also calls for respecting territorial integrity and assumed commitments exclusively by means of dialogue, negotiation, mutual understanding, consensus and tolerance. The Fund strongly believes that the real resolution of the conflict can only be achieved through peaceful settlement of disputes and misunderstandings among dissident people. The International Fund condemns the use of military force and any manifestation of violence.

The International Fund, with Ukraine being one of its founders and active members, hopes that wise, multinational people of Ukraine will overcome these restless times, find a way out of the political crisis and thus contribute to eliminating the tensions in the country for the sake of a stable and strong Ukraine, for the sake of stable Europe and the entire world.
