The Economic and Social Council at its Substantive Session of July 2013 adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations to grant Special consultative status to BSCSIF.
It was informed with the letter, that includes the privileges and benefits, responsibilities and obligations that the special consultative status with ECOSOC confers on the BSCSIF within the NGOs Branch, duly represented by Mr. Andrei Abramov, Chief, NGO Branch/ UNDESA, as well as the definition of the consultative status that our organization will be required to meet under this relationship: “Consultative status for an organization enables it to actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat, programmes, funds and agencies in a number of ways.”
