The project started on the 1st of November 2012although preparations for the project implementation were carried out during the year.

This initiative is unique because of its specific approach and attempts to harmonize the interests of the conflicting parties by identifying the economic damage in the area affected by the conflict, as well as the social, political and economic prospects of the conflict settlement. In order to achieve the project goals, the BSCSIF researchers will collaborate with well-known scholars, experts and specialists in the field of conflict management.

The duration of the project is 6 months. Research trips of our team to the conflict areas are also planned as an essential part of the project, with the consent of the relevant structures of the countries involved in the conflicts, in order to collect real substantial data from the representatives of governmental structures, local authorities, as well as the representatives of local communities, residents, victims, refugees and internally displaced persons from occupied territories.

As a result of this project the research paper will be released, outlining the economic damages and social hardships in the areas affected by conflicts, as well as the social, political and economic prospects and recommendations for peaceful conflict resolution. At the end of the project, the final research paper will be presented at the final conference in Bucharest. The results of the research work will also be disseminated to various institutions, both governmental and non-governmental, on the national and international levels.
